Fear, Personality, and Emotion

Well, this is exciting, isn't it. "Yayyy, another speech!" Sarcasm... Attractive to the human ear, no? Something fresh, humorous, and exaggerated. It's funny how our human nature is drawn to negative subjects. I mean, would you HONESTLY rather hear about a car crash, or your best friend getting an A on their math test. It's what inevitably interests us the most in life... This "negativity". Though so many of us try so hard to stray away from such events, you can't help but to peak an eye out - to be genuinely interested. Like how a mother tells her young child to "look away" upon driving past an accident on the side of the free-way. The child is of course going to look... Wanting to get that glimpse of the other side.

Why are we so interested in such things..? Why is it "human nature"? Perhaps that we try to shield and mask negativity so much... As if you told your friend, "don't look in that box. It is bad." Your friend is then going to be profusely curious about said matter, wondering and pondering... what in fact this "thing" is, what it does, what it's all about, and every other aspect that would come to mind.

If this apparent "need" for negativity is a natural human feature, why are people so reluctant in admitting this so-called flaw - I say flaw, for... if it wasn't a flaw, why would we try to hide it?

Are we embarrassed of our nature as animals... What causes this embarrassment?

"What will they think of me?"

A common reason for the emotion of "embarrassment". Though, that's just the phrase used to describe it... The truth behind this emotion is Fear.

If you were to look at it from a technical and logical perspective, one could easily state that in fact each of our labelled Emotions are just different names for Fear.

We fear our self-image, we fear others, and what they may do to us, we fear weakness, we fear helplessness, we fear abandonment...

We fear many things, and could this fear, be the one and only explanation for our entirety of classified emotions?

Fear of self-image - Embarrassment, grandiose sense of worth/ pride

Fear of others - Anticipation, Anxiousness

Fear of weakness - Anger

Fear of helplessness - Dominant traits

Fear of abandonment - Love

卐卐卐

If this idea - that all emotions are purely just separate names of "fear" - is truth.. Then what sets us apart from one another? Personality. I thought to myself, "hmm.. what's entertaining? What's just that right consistency of fact and negativity - spawning that awe-reaching controversy..? Well, what better than personality itself. The very cause of all things controversial... The mother ship of all "shocking ideals"."

"Well, doesn't personality have a great deal to do with emotions?
Example: What if you're a submissive person?"

<<What's the difference?>>

Personality is the fire, emotion is merely the sparks that fly off of the fire, inevitable little sparks... The greater the personality, the greater the fire, thus producing more sparks. Flying outward, and relatively irritating upon coming into contact with another's skin.

Small fires creating minuscule amount amounts of sparks is not only inefficient to our world, - inefficient to keeping those around it warm, but..

It's always the big fires... That speak out, and whose sparks reach out and crackle, irritating the skin of many... that end up making a large impact on our world. ..Sometimes, they're even responsible for setting fire, or enhancing others'.

WITH GOOD - COMES BAD (WHAT'S GOOD WITHOUT A LITTLE BAD?)

I say ... Don't fear. Break free of that, we all want to be strong, correct? We all want to be good, and we all want to be heard... We want to live our lives, knowing that there's a reason for our existence.

Speak out, with no fear, and no regrets...

Regardless if something has been said before... If it means something - anything - to you, say it.

<<<[/end. As this was written almost three years ago now, I've made many advancements in my thought since then. This was at the beginning of my understanding of many things - and becoming aware to so much more. There are notes written all over the sides of the document, so those will be recorded in the next post. This was written for a creative assignment we had in literature and public speaking. It was to be a speech on anything. There is of course an easily discernible reason why it's written to appeal to a Majority of thinkers - throwing my own controversial opinions, insights, and views into the mix. It had to be filtered.. much.]>>>
